News:
The SNA Chapter of Fortis College, Columbus held it’s July Meeting on 7/19/2012. These SNA members are automatically members of the professional nursing organizations of OSNA and NSNA.
We discussed their 2012 SNA Summer Project. We are collecting items for the Nationwide Childrens’ Gift. We need new items for children of all ages, such as books, onesies, toys, rattlers, teethers, nail polish for teens, board games, cards for ITunes, and most anything you can think of that would help to make a child more comfortable during their hospitalization. I have the totes in my office, one for boy items and one for girls. The students will be putting up posters with more information. The collection will continue through August and we will present the gifts to Nationwide Childrens’ at the beginning of September.
The SNA will be raffling $1 tickets for a chance to win an SNA t-shirt.
Also: If anyone is interested in becoming the SNA Advisor(s) for Fall term, please let me or Shawna know. I’ve been doing this for 3 years. I’m willing to help those for a few more months who wish to help with this organization. This is a great opportunity for faculty development. The SNA helps with leadership development of students and it’s a great way to get to know the students.
Thank you.
